At Jackdaw Press, our focus is to curate a thoughtful space for contemporary poetry. Much like our namesake, we have a keen eye for the rare and the resonant. We look for precise, well-crafted poems and give them a home in our online journal.
Anna is a writer, artist, editor, and creative writing teacher. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing: Poetry from Pacific University and a BA in Art from UC Santa Cruz. Her work has appeared in Lake Effect, Atlanta Review, Slipstream, Whale Road Review, Book of Matches, The Dewdrop, and other literary journals. Her first collection of poetry, The Last Bite, was published by Main Street Rag in 2025 and is available through their bookstore.
Anna started Jackdaw Press with the desire to bring more poetry into the world. She believes that poetry is a refuge for many, and has found that poetry got her through some of the hardest times in her life. She believes that poetry can heal a person’s soul and hopes to share brilliant poetry with a wide body of readers.

Jennifer is a writer and artist who lives in Colorado with her family, two cats, songbirds, great horned owls and neighborhood foxes, amid cottonwood, spruce and the noise of the highway.
Jennifer spends her time recreating meadows, longing for starlight and rooting for migrating birds. As her day job, she teaches in a Waldorf school. Jennifer has a strong affinity for the “more than human” movement and has had poetry published in The Cold Mountain Review, The Raven’s Perch Review, The Dewdrop, The Origami Poem Project, among others.
